Pablo Cordero-Alvarado

BME Doctoral Candidate

Pablo is from Costa Rica, Central America. He completed his undergraduate degree in Industrial Engineering at the Costa Rican Institute of Technology after and worked in the medical industry as a new product introduction engineer before starting graduate school at Duke. Currently, he is a fifth-year PhD student co-mentored by Dr Joel Collier and Dr Tatiana Segura. Outside the lab, Pablo enjoys hiking, making new friends and cooking.

  • MSc in Biomedical Engineering from Duke University
  • BSc & Licenciatura Degrees in Industrial Engineering with honors from Costa Rican Institute of Technology

Research Interests

Understand the design rules of biomaterials to elicit immune responses that can control and improve wound healing in animal models that mimic biological processes in humans.
