BME Grad Student
Chelsea grew up on a horse ranch in Southern California where she learned a love for the outdoors and animals of all kinds. Looking to spread her wings from her west coast roots, she took off to Chicago to study Biomedical Engineering at Northwestern University. After getting her dose of the big city, Chelsea is thrilled to live in Durham where she can run through the forest and swim in the river with her dog Samwise (yes, like Gamgee). When not spending time outdoors, Chelsea loves to cook and visit local coffee shops.

Chelsea’s research is centered around her passion for molecular design. Within this focus, she is developing molecules to control the physical and mechanical properties of self-assembling peptide nanofibers to modulate immune responses to these materials.
